Briques II

Benjamin SABATIER

Date : 2012

Medium : Sculpture

Size : 195 x 43 x 55 cm

"Briques II" is a cheerful allegory of the work of art at the heart of contemporary social and economic realities. It questions different features of our society - standardisation, excessive consumerism, the alienation of work – and the place that these sociological reflections occupy in current art.

Benjamin Sabatier places objects and waste generated in excess by our consumer societies, such as bricks, at the heart of his "ready to install" creations. In his own original way, he pursues the questioning about contemporary creation and its technical reproduction.
