PAPIER MILLIMETRE N°7120

ERIC BAUDART

Date : 2014

Medium : Works on paper

Size : 100 x 130 x 15 cm

Graph paper, wood, Plexiglas

In the Graph Paper series, Eric Baudart has used a craft knife to horizontally and vertically trace each line of the graph paper over several weeks, until the cardboard on which the paper is mounted appears. Through this simple action on a neutral technical surface, a kind of mapping or landscape emerges, which invites the viewer to navigate in this surface that the eye cannot memorize. Eric Baudart describes the squares of graph paper as cut-outs like pixels forming an image.
